Formula E in Tokyo: An overview of the qualifying groups for Race 2

Yesterday we witnessed a thrilling first night race in Tokyo. In the drivers’ championship, the drivers have closed the gap on one another once again just ahead of the season finale. Mitch Evans even managed to reclaim the championship lead. This makes the battle for pole position in the second Tokyo race even more important. For Edoardo Mortara and Antonio Felix da Costa, the second Tokyo race will likely be their last chance to put themselves in a position to still fight for the World Championship.

Drivers in the odd-numbered championship positions will start in Group A, whilst those in the even-numbered positions will start in Group B. The aim here is to finish in the top four positions in the group, as this is the only way to reach the duels. There, two drivers will face off against each other in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, battling for pole position and the first three World Championship points of the race day.
