Formula E in Tokyo: the qualifying groups for Saturday at a glance

Tim Neuhaus

Formula E returns to the mega metropolis of Tokyo. The Japanese capital will be the venue for a "double-header" for the first time! Nissan and Lola Yamaha ABT in particular have high expectations for their home race. The track is a lot tighter and more technical than many of the circuits that Formula E has recently visited. In addition, it will be wet, so the starting position is more important than usual.

The drivers in the odd-numbered championship positions will start in Group A, while the drivers in the odd-numbered positions will start in Group B. The aim here is to make it into the top four positions in your group, as this is the only way to reach the duel phase. Here, two drivers compete against each other in the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final to fight for pole position and the first three championship points.
