Just three days before its scheduled start, the Extreme H World Cup in Saudi Arabia has been cancelled. The FIA and the organisers have postponed the second edition of the hydrogen-powered motorsport competition until 2027, citing logistical and operational challenges. A new date has yet to be announced.

The second Extreme H World Cup was originally scheduled to take place from 29 to 31 October 2026 in Qiddiya City. However, on Monday evening, the FIA, the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) and Extreme H announced the postponement. The organisers did not provide further details about the reasons behind the decision. The FIA and Extreme H intend to hold the event in 2027 in cooperation with their partners in Saudi Arabia.

The Extreme H World Cup made its debut in 2025 as the successor to the all-electric off-road racing series Extreme E. The competition features Pioneer 25 vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel cells. Kevin Hansen and Molly Taylor won the inaugural World Cup for Jameel Motorsport.
