Sebastian Loeb is returning to the World Rallycross Championship: The nine-time WRC champion is celebrating his comeback together with the Lancia Evo-e RX, which is based on one of the most successful rally cars of the 1980s and was already used for the first time at the 2022 season finale. Loeb had already competed in the World Rallycross Championship with Hansen Motorsport from 2016 to 2018 and only recently left Extreme E after winning the title.

His teammate at Special One Racing - a racing team that emerged from GCK Motorsport - is team owner Guerlain Chicherit, who also drove the Lancia in its first race appearance at the Nürburgring. "When Guerlain first approached me about competing in a World Rallycross Championship with the Lancia Delta, I thought he was crazy," Loeb said. "But I come from a generation that grew up with Lancia wins in rallying, so I have a natural soft spot for this car. When I tested it in December, I was immediately won over by its dynamics and I can't wait to drive it on the world's racetracks."
