Formula E: Mahindra sticks with Mortara & de Vries for the Gen4 era

Mahindra Racing is opting for continuity at the start of the Gen4 era: Edoardo Mortara and Nyck de Vries will remain with the Indian manufacturer for the 2026/27 Formula E season. The pair have raced together for Mahindra since 2023 and will look to build on a strong previous campaign.

Mahindra has confirmed that both drivers will stay with the team for Formula E's new Gen4 era. Mortara and de Vries played a key role in Mahindra's strong 2025/26 season, combining for two wins, seven podiums and five pole positions. The team scored 252 points and finished third in the Teams' World Championship.

"I am very happy to continue with Mahindra Racing as we enter the Gen4 era," says de Vries. "It represents a completely new challenge for everyone in Formula E, with a lot to learn and discover." The 2020/21 Formula E World Champion claimed victories in Monaco and Tokyo last season.

Mortara will also stay on for what will be his tenth Formula E season. "Our collaboration over the past three seasons has been very positive, and the results have continued to improve," he says. "We know that the coming season will be a real challenge, especially from a technical point of view, because so much is new."

With Mortara and de Vries retained, Mahindra will enter the Gen4 era with one of the most experienced driver line-ups on the Formula E grid.
