A new award will be presented for the first time at the award ceremony of the Miami E-Prix 2025: The race winner will receive the FIA President's Medal. In future, the international automobile association intends to honour race winners in Formula E, the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the World Rally Championship (WRC) with this award.
The initiative, launched by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, is intended to enable the race winners to keep a personal memento of their victory that symbolises their dedication and skill. The winners' trophies, on the other hand, usually go to the respective teams, who display them in their factory or headquarters.
However, the medal is not only a symbol of sporting excellence, but also a testament to Formula E and the FIA's commitment to sustainability. Produced in collaboration with the Milan-based company Libe Incisioni, the medals are made from fully recycled materials. A unique process is used in which sustainability is taken into account from the design phase to the final product.
