Nissan unveiled Caio Collet as a new reserve and simulator driver for the 2023/24 Formula E season on Wednesday. The Brazilian was already on site with the team at the Mexico City E-Prix last weekend and is expected to get his first public testing opportunity at the rookie test in Berlin in May.

Collet began his formula racing career in 2017 in the Formula 4 UAE Championship, where he took one win and six podium finishes. The following year, he became French Formula 4 champion with seven victories. This was followed by two seasons in the Formula Renault Eurocup, where he finished second in the overall standings in 2020. His performances earned him a place in the FIA Formula 3, where he took three wins and 11 podium finishes in three seasons.

"The role of reserve and simulator driver is an extremely important one in several ways," explains Nissan team boss Tommaso Volpe. "His feedback from the simulator will have a significant impact on our in-season development, and therefore our performance throughout the year. Caio's profile as a driver fits this role perfectly."
