Reigning Formula E world champion Pascal Wehrlein will make his IMSA debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona on 25/26 January. The German will drive the Porsche 963 from JDC-Miller MotorSports. His Formula E team-mate Antonio Felix da Costa will also be competing in the endurance classic in Florida, in an Oreca-Gibson from Inter Europol Competition in the LMP2 class.
"I've always wanted to compete in sports cars - that's one of my goals as a racing driver," says Wehrlein. "The Porsche 963 reminded me of the DTM cars of my time - I felt at home. I'm currently recovering from my accident in Sao Paulo. I want to hit the ground running again in January."
Felix da Costa is also "very happy that I can finally attack again at the 24 Hours of Daytona - especially with the LMP2 championship-winning team from the last IMSA season." The 24 Hours of Daytona is the traditional season opener of the North American IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The 59th edition will take place on 25/26 January 2025 at the Daytona International Speedway.
