Roberto Merhi will contest both the Rome E-Prix (July 15-16) and the Formula E season finale in London (July 29-03) for Mahindra Racing as the Indian manufacturer's team announced on Thursday. The Spaniard had taken over the cockpit from Oliver Rowland at the double-header in Jakarta as well as in Portland and will now get four more chances to make his case for 2024.
"It's official! Roberto Merhi will drive for us in the last four races of the season in Rome and London!" announced Mahindra on Twitter. "Following his positive performance at the last few rounds, he will drive the #8 car alongside Lucas di Grassi as we conclude season 9 in Europe."
Substitute driver Jehan Daruvala thus once again comes away empty-handed and must continue to wait for his first race participation in Formula E. After all, Mahindra also announced on Thursday that the Indian would get into the car for the team at the Free Practice 0 session in Rome (drivers overview).
