Season finale in Germany: Race calendar for RX2e presented
Svenja König
After the race calendar for the World Rallycross Championship was already officially presented in December, it seemed only a matter of time until together with the organizer:inside the program for the frame series are coordinated. Finally, the race series announced on Tuesday the program categories Euro RX1, Euro RX3 and the all-electric RX2e. Good news for German fans: the season finale of all frame series will take place at the Estering near Buxtehude.
.As in the previous season, five rounds of the electric series RX2e are planned. Just like its big sister WRX, the RX2e will begin its season with two races in Scandinavia. It will kick off in Hell, Norway, on June 17 and 18, 2023, and then head to Höljes, Sweden, two weeks later. The young riders were already able to gain experience on these two tracks in 2022. Then it goes in July and August on unknown terrain.
.For the almost iconic rallycross tracks Lydden Hill (Great Britain) and Mettet (Belgium) have also made it into the calendar of the frame series. The races will be held on July 22 and 23 and August 5 and 6, respectively. Spa-Francorshamps and Barcelona fall out of the calendar for this, which means that the Spanish manufacturer of the electric vehicles - QEV - will not be staging a home race for the first time in the series' young history.
After the Nürburgring was the venue for the season finale of the WRX itself in 2022, all frame series - accordingly also the RX2e - will hold their season finale at the Estering near Buxtehude, i.e. also in Germany, in 2023. German fans can therefore look forward to two full days of racing with plenty of action. Accordingly, the RX2e will not take part in the international races in South Africa and Asia.
