Formula E: Sergio Sette Camara becomes reserve & simulator driver at Nissan

The Nissan works team has signed Sergio Sette Camara as its reserve and simulator driver for the 2024/25 Formula E season. The Brazilian recently lost his cockpit at Kiro to David Beckmann after several years with the team. His experience will not only be used to prepare for the E-Prix, but also to help Nissan with the ongoing development of the new Gen3 Evo car.
Sette Camara was a full-time Formula E driver for four seasons and has repeatedly attracted attention with strong performances in technically inferior cars. Prior to that, he had scored several victories and podium finishes in the FIA Formula 2 Championship before finally switching to Formula E in the middle of the sixth season (2019/20). The 26-year-old will work closely with Nissan regulars Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato during the new season - and will certainly be hoping for one of their two cockpits in the long term.
"It has always been my goal to work with a major manufacturer in the series and Nissan has taken a big step forward in season 10," says Sette Camara. "I believe that with my experience I can help the team keep this momentum going. I can't wait to get started and be with the team at my home E-Prix this weekend." The new Formula E season starts on 7 December in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
