Hector Garzo (Dynavolt Intact MotoE) has won his first race in MotoE in the second race at Sachsenring. He beat Mattia Casadei (HP Pons Los40) and Jordi Torres (OpenBank Aspar Team), who had won the first race just a few hours earlier to extend his overall lead. As on the previous weekend at Mugello, the second race had to be stopped with a red flag.

In the first lap of race 1, the eventual race winner Torres initially fell back to fourth place: he had to let Nicholas Spinelli (HP Pons Los40) from the second row of the grid and Hector Garzo pass at the start. Before the Saxon bend, Eric Granado (LCR E-Team) also overtook the Spaniard. On lap 2 Spinelli missed the racing line and dropped back to fourth position. As a result, a group of seven riders formed at the front in the second half of the race, going through the corners in two rows side by side and swapping places several times.

On the last lap, Granado was unable to hold his bike on the outside line, while Spinelli crashed into Hector Garzo on the inside line. Spinelli received a 3-second time penalty after the race. The result was as follows: Torres won ahead of Randy Krummenacher (Dynavolt Intact MotoE), who celebrated his first podium in the electric series, and Matteo Ferrari (Felo Gresini MotoE).

In race 2 on late Saturday afternoon, Torres tried to push right from the start. At "Wasserfall", he already overtook Garzo, who had won the start, and took the lead. Behind, Casadei (HP Pons Los40) closed in on the two leaders and, as it began to rain, was able to overtake them both.

On lap 5, he engaged in some good maneuvers with Torres, who again tried it at Wasserfall, but had to back off at the next corner. Garzo was able to benefit, overtaking both in turn 1. Torres and Casadei continued to battle, with more and more riders indicating that the rain was too heavy to continue. After six completed laps, the race direction stopped the race. The next round will take place as early as next week in Assen.
