Video: A simulator lap on the new Formula E track in Sao Paulo

In a Twitter video from Mahindra Racing, the new race track in Sao Paulo for the upcoming premiere E-Prix Saturday can be seen for the first time. Local hero Lucas di Grassi takes viewers:inside for a spin around his hometown. The anticipation of the first Brazil race in the history of Formula E is di Grassi thereby clearly noticeable.
.In particular, the high speeds that the up to 350 kW strong Gen3 bolides will reach in Sao Paulo have taken di Grassi: "The highest top speed of the season, up to 270 km/h in qualifying mode," he emphasizes twice. The Mahindra driver also elaborates on other peculiarities of the track, including the strong bumps at the end of the third long straight of the circuit.

The Season 3 champion predicts lap times of "1:10 or 1:11 minutes in qualifying." A lap time of 1:10,000 minutes would mean an average of 150.84 km/h, making Sao Paulo the second-fastest circuit in the history of the racing series. To match Sacha Fenestraz's best in Cape Town (154.987 km/h in qualifying), a lap time of 1:08.127 minutes would have to be achieved on the 2.933 km circuit.
