The new Jaguar team is playing a safe card with its I-Type 1 for the time being. The British racing team cannot draw on experience from previous seasons, but maintains close contacts with battery supplier Williams. Williams was therefore deliberately banned from the team garages in March 2016 - seven months before the start of the season - so as not to give Jaguar a competitive advantage. All powertrain components, i.e. the engine, transmission and inverter, come from the collaboration between Jaguar and Williams. The title sponsor is Panasonic.
