Venturi was one of the first teams to bring its racer onto the track and test it before Season 3. The VM200-FE-02's powertrain is based on McLaren know-how. Of particular note is the inverter, which makes use of silicon carbide compounds that convert the electrical phases. For McLaren, this is the penultimate season in which Venturi will be sourcing engines from Woking: From season five, the powertrain is to come from ZF Friedrichshafen. The Monegasques are already presenting the logo of the German company on the sidepods of the cars.
