After being supplied with Venturi engines in season two, the U.S.-based Dragon Racing team is now relying on its own powertrain for the third year, with technical support from technology partner and title sponsor Faraday Future. The 701-EV, although used exclusively by Dragon, was developed in close collaboration with Mahindra engineers and is based on a shared Magneti-Marelli powertrain. Incidentally, the two Dragon cars are distinguished on the track by their "polarity" livery: Jerome d'Ambrosio's car starts with black foil at the front and turns white towards the rear, while his teammate's bolide is white at the front and black at the rear.
