In its first season, Formula E made a stop in Miami. The street circuit at the southern tip of Florida (USA) included a circuit around the American Airlines Arena, the stadium of the local NBA basketball team Miami Heat. Local hero Scott Speed almost snatched victory on his Formula E debut for the U.S. Andretti racing team, but Nicolas Prost ultimately triumphed. The Miami E-Prix did not make it into the race calendar for the second season, mainly due to logistical difficulties. As a result, the 2015 edition will remain the only guest appearance on Biscayne Bay for the time being.
