The Moscow E-Prix was a late addition to the racing calendar during the first season and joined Formula E's European tour as the penultimate venue. In terms of scenery, Moscow was among the most spectacular the electric series had to offer so far. After all, numerous sights such as the Kremlin, Red Square and St. Basil's Cathedral were in the immediate vicinity of the track. The Russian street circuit offered rather few overtaking opportunities, but all the wider start and finish straight as well as furious cornering sections. Moscow was actually also part of the race calendar for season two. However, the race had to be canceled and did not return.
