Hong Kong

Hong Kong has been the season opener of Formula E since 2016. The track layout was published early in 2016, so Hong Kong was the first new stop for the third year of the championship. In 2017, the race will be held for the first time as a so-called doubleheader, i.e. with two races on one weekend. The races will be held directly in the harbor in front of the most famous skyscrapers of the megacity. The title sponsor of the 2016 Hong Kong ePrix was HKT. The 2016 edition was the first Formula E race to be held on a Sunday alone. The eGolf Cup was also the first time another racing series raced as part of the Formula E supporting program (on the Saturday before the race).
