Alex Lynn

Even before his Formula E career, Alex Lynn was attracting attention with outstanding results in other racing series. These included his victory at the Macau Grand Prix in 2013, the GP3 title as a rookie in 2014 and his five race wins immediately after moving up to GP2. Among other things, these successes earned him a place as a development driver with Formula 1 team Williams. Lynn also raced in the WEC's LMP2 class from 2016 and moved to Aston Martin in 2018, where he competed in the GT class. In 2020, he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the Brits in the LMGTE Pro category.

After a Formula E test for Jaguar in 2016 and a guest start for Virgin at the 2017 New York City E-Prix, where Lynn took pole position at the first attempt, the Londoner was confirmed as a regular driver for DS Virgin Racing ahead of the 2017/18 season. However, he was hardly able to set any highlights. After a disappointing season, he had to make way for Robin Frijns. For season 5, Lynn joined Jaguar Racing as a reserve driver. In the second half of the season he took over the cockpit from Nelson Piquet Jr. and was convincing in places. Nonetheless, the British signed James Calado in his place for 2019/20.

Lynn should nevertheless also be used in season 6, as Mahindra Racing gave him the cockpit of Pascal Wehrlein to contest the final six races of Berlin in August 2020. After impressing with good performances here - especially in qualifying - Lynn was given a regular cockpit with the Indians for Season 7. After the 2021 season, however, he was again left without a Formula E cockpit. As a result, he switched to the IMSA championship as a Cadillac driver for Chip Ganassi Racing.
