The early years of Jerome d'Ambrosio's career were a pure success story: After just two years in karting, the Belgian moved to the Belgian Formula Renault 1.6 in 2003, where he was outright champion in his first year. After stints in International Formula Masters, GP2 and the FIA GT Championship, d'Ambrosio took part in over 20 Formula 1 races for Marussia and Lotus in 2011 and 2012.

Since the inception of Formula E, he has also competed in the electric series, where he also scored several podiums and race wins for Dragon and Mahindra. After the sixth Formula E season, d'Ambrosio ended his active career as a racing driver and joined Venturi as co-team principal alongside Susie Wolff. Before the 2022 season, d'Ambrosio was promoted to team principal and won the runner-up championship with the team. At the end of the season, he vacated his post as part of an organizational realignment of the racing team, which has now been renamed Monaco Sports Group, and moved to Formula 1, where he heads up the young talent programme at Mercedes.
