Oliver Turvey is generally regarded as one of the most underrated drivers in Formula E because he always delivered good results despite inferior cars - especially compared to his teammates. He competed in the electric series since the 2015 London E-Prix - always for the same team. He was considered an important asset for the Nio 333 racing team, for which he competed in the first eight seasons. His biggest success was a second-place finish at the 2018 Mexico City E-Prix. After the 2022 season, he moved to DS Penske as a reserve driver and sporting advisor.

In addition to successes in British Formula BMW, Formula 3, Formula Renault 3.5, GP2 and ELMS, Turvey won the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award in 2006 and was signed as a development driver by the Woking-based manufacturer in 2009. The Briton is a graduate of the University of Cambridge and wrote his engineering thesis on the subject of aerodynamics in Formula 1. In addition to his well-known qualities on the race track, Turvey is one of the most valuable development drivers in the world of motorsport.
