Sergio Sette Camara began his formula racing career in 2014 in Formula 3. After some mixed results initially, the Brazilian finished third in the Formula 3 Masters at Zandvoort in both 2015 and 2016. He also secured a podium finish at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix. He was subsequently accepted into the Red Bull junior programme, though he left it just one year later. From 2017 to 2019, he competed in Formula 2, where he won a total of three races and finished his final season in fourth place overall.

Sette Camara gained his first experience in Formula E at the 2020 rookie test in Marrakesh for Dragon Racing. At the season finale in Berlin, he replaced Brendon Hartley and competed in his first six Formula E races. For the 2020/21 season, he was given a permanent seat at Dragon Penske Autosport, for whom he also raced in 2021/22. He then moved to the Chinese team Nio 333, which competed under the name ERT Formula E Team in 2023/24. Despite a few notable successes, he was unable to secure a podium finish due to the cars’ lack of competitiveness.

After the 2023/24 season, Sette Camara lost his regular seat and moved to Nissan as a test and reserve driver. At the 2025 Berlin E-Prix, he stood in for Norman Nato, who was unable to attend due to a clash with the World Endurance Championship. The Brazilian scored World Championship points in both races. His contract was not renewed for the following season, so he left Formula E after a total of 68 race starts. Sette Camara then focused on endurance racing and competed, amongst other series, in the European Le Mans Series, where he drove a Mercedes-AMG GT3 for Iron Lynx in 2026.
