Sergio Sette Camara made his Formula 3 debut in 2014, but initially failed to attract attention with good results. In 2015 and 2016, however, he finished third in the Formula 3 Masters at Zandvoort. He also celebrated a surprise success with third place at the Formula 3 season highlight on the Macau street circuit. Red Bull subsequently signed the Brazilian to its development program, which he, however, left just one year later.
Sette Camara switched to Formula 2, where he won the sprint race at Spa-Francorchamps after some teething problems. After finishing 12th overall, he ended the following two years in sixth and fourth in the standings. He returned to Red Bull's junior squad in 2020.
Sette Camara made his first drive in a Formula E car at the 2020 rookie test in Marrakesh for Dragon. Shortly before that, the U.S. racing team had signed him as a test and reserve driver for the 2019/20 season. At the 2020 season finale in Berlin, Sette Camaraa substituted for Brendon Hartley in all six races and attracted attention with good performances, particularly in qualifying. For the 2021 season, Dragon Penske Autosport signed him as a regular driver for the electric series, in which he also competed with the U.S. squad in 2022.
After the end of the season he left the team and moved to Nio 333. In 2024, he remained with the team, now renamed ERT Racing Team.
