After several successful years in karting, Jehan Daruvala has been competing in formula racing since 2015. He achieved some good results here, including finishing runner-up in the Toyota Racing Series behind Lando Norris in 2016. In 2019, he finished third overall in Formula 3 and was promoted to Formula 2, where he celebrated a total of four race wins. He was the first and only Indian driver to ever win a Formula 2 race.
In 2020, he also joined the Red Bull Junior Programme and raced in Formula 2 in Red Bull livery. In 2022, however, he took part in three tests for McLaren in their Formula 1 racing car from the previous year. At the end of the year, he dropped out of Red Bull's junior programme.
For the 2023 season, Daruvala was signed by Mahindra Racing as a reserve driver for Formula E and sat in the electric racing car for the first time at the rookie test in Berlin in 2023. He was given a regular cockpit with Maserati MSG Racing for 2024.
