Maro Engel

Maro Engel was born in Munich and made his first international mark in 2007 when he finished runner-up in British Formula 3. He then competed in the Mercedes at Mücke Motorsport (2008 to 2011) and at HWA (2017) in the DTM. The German grew up in Monaco and speaks fluent German, English, French and Italian. He went to school with Formula One world champion Nico Rosberg and is still good friends with him today.

Engel is regarded as a GT ace and has repeatedly demonstrated his talent in the ADAC GT Masters, the V8 Supercars Series, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship or the Blancpain Series in recent years. In 2016, he finally returned to Formula racing with Venturi after more than ten years. He drove for the Monegasque team for two seasons, with his best result being a fourth place at the 2018 Paris E-Prix. He is currently involved in GT racing again.
