Irishman Alex Dunne, a driver in the McLaren Driver Development programme, was presented as the new reserve and development driver for the eleventh Formula E season at McLaren as part of the Mexico City E-Prix 2025. Dunne won the 2022 British Formula 4 before finishing runner-up in the GB3 Championship the following year. In 2024, he competed in Formula 3, where he finished 14th overall with two podiums.
