Tom Dillmann competed in GP2 between 2012 and 2014, where he did not finish higher than tenth overall. In 2016, the Frenchman won the Formula V8 3.5 title. Dillmann gained his first experience of Formula E in testing for Aguri back in 2015. However, it would take another two years for him to make his first race appearance - as a replacement for Venturi racer Maro Engel in the 2017 Paris E-Prix. In the 2018/19 season, he competed for Nio and later became a Jaguar reserve driver.
