For many years, Venturi, a former car manufacturer from Monaco, has been causing an international media stir with speed records with electric vehicles. In 2014, the team entered Formula E and has been on board as a founding member ever since. Gildo Pastor and Susie Wolff's team, in which actor Leonardo DiCaprio and racing driver Marc Gindorf also previously held shares, was unable to celebrate any major successes in its first few seasons.

After almost five years in Formula E, Edoardo Mortara finally celebrated his and the team's first victory for Venturi in Hong Kong in 2019. The signing of former Ferrari F1 star Felipe Massa at the start of the Gen2 era (2018/19 season) brought the team and the racing series a lot of attention, but was to remain unsuccessful apart from a joint podium result at the Monaco E-Prix.

After four years as an enrolled FIA manufacturer, Venturi said goodbye to its own powertrain at the conclusion of the 2018/19 season. Instead, the team began been sourcing powertrains from Mercedes-Benz as a customer team since the sixth season. ROKiT has also been involved as title sponsor since then. Team principal Susie Wolff moved to the team management after the 2021 season and became CEO. She was succeeded by former Formula E driver Jerome d'Ambrosio. The team finished the 2022 season as runner-up and subsequently changed its name to Monaco Sports Group (MSG). Since the 2023 season, MSG competes as the factory team of Italian sports car manufacturer Maserati.
