HWA Racelab

The German company HWA entered Formula E for the fifth season and pioneered the Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team in the 2018/19 season. The racing team from Affalterbach, which will be familiar to motorsport fans in particular as the Mercedes customer team from the DTM, sourced customer engines from Venturi. HWA AG, founded in 1998, has a long tradition in motorsports.

On behalf of Daimler AG's motorsport department, the company looked after the DTM commitment of the brand with the star as a full-service provider for many years and was responsible for the complete development and construction of the DTM vehicles, including engines, as well as for all other tasks related to the operation of the racing team.

In Formula E, HWA finished its sole season in ninth in the team standings before Mercedes took over the starting lsot with its own factory team.
