voestalpine European Races
The Austrian technology corporation voestalpine was a partner of the Formula E during the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons. In the fifth championship year, the company gave its name to all European races and presented the "voestalpine European Races" - a kind of European Championship ranking within the regular season.
The driver with the most wins and podiums in all European races received a trophy made by the company using special 3D printing technology in June 2019 in Bern. The winner in the 2018/19 season was DS Techeetah driver Jean-Eric Vergne thanks to two wins and a third place (see table below).
After the cancellation of almost all European races in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, voestalpine decided shortly before the season finale in Berlin not to create its own European ranking in Season 6 of Formula E, but only to appear as a sponsor until the final race. Instead of extending the partnership with Formula E as planned beyond the initial two-year contract, the company was forced to withdraw from the electric racing series due to the COVID-19-related economic downturn.
