After DS Penske, Japanese manufacturer Nissan also unveiled its livery for the eleventh Formula E season at its new headquarters near Paris this week. As in the previous season, the typical Japanese cherry blossom pattern is at the centre of the vehicle's look.

Basically, the vehicle is very similar to the one from the previous season. With a few updates to the standardised chassis, the shape of the front and rear wings changes minimally for all teams. And the Nissan team has also retained its familiar colour scheme consisting of red accents and a cherry blossom pattern.

This has been placed even more prominently on the Japanese manufacturer's vehicle this season and extends from the centre of the vehicle in a V-shape along the monocoque to the rear end of the side panels. The green Elektromin logo is also placed there, replacing Shell as team sponsor.

This season, the floral pattern also replaces the previously distinctive black area on the roll bar. It is also contrasted with the familiar Nissan red on the front and rear wings as well as the side panels. The Halo system, the mirrors and a small carbon surface on the rear wing, where the Japanese manufacturer's logo can be found, remain as black highlights.

Nato: "Paint finish preserves Japanese identity"

"The new livery is really cool, it preserves our Japanese identity and the fans love it because we are so recognisable on the racetrack. I'm happy to be back in the team and I feel comfortable with the car, the simulator and the Nissan team straight away. I can't wait to start the GEN3 Evo era at the tests in Valencia before heading to Brazil for the season opener."

This season, Nissan's prestigious #23 will move from Sacha Fenestraz, who has had to leave the team, to Oliver Rowland, who has earned it in a strong comeback season with two wins and several podiums. Norman Nato will continue to start with the number #17.

A lot is also new under the chassis: engine, inverter gearbox, plus various software updates, for example for the new all-wheel drive. Both Rowland and Nato have already tested this during the team's private tests. The drive will be used in public for the first time at the pre-season tests in Valencia.
