Formula E: Dan Ticktum reportedly tests for Lola Yamaha & could leave Cupra Kiro

Dan Ticktum is reportedly set to test for Lola Yamaha this week. According to a media report, the Briton will take part in a two-day test in Spain and is therefore emerging as a potential driver for the Gen4 era. His future at Cupra Kiro remains unresolved.

Already at the season finale in London, Dan Ticktum had revealed that he was exploring options for his Formula E future, explicitly including opportunities outside of Cupra Kiro. However, the Briton did not completely rule out remaining with his current team.

Since making his Formula E debut, Ticktum has raced for the same outfit, which previously competed under the NIO 333 and ERT names before becoming Cupra Kiro.

Ticktum has achieved his biggest Formula E successes since the team switched to Porsche power. After scoring his maiden Formula E podium in Tokyo in 2025, he claimed his first victory shortly afterwards in Jakarta. During the most recent season, the 27-year-old won again in Tokyo taking his second Formula E victory. The Briton has also repeatedly demonstrated his qualifying strength, taking pole position at the 2025 London E-Prix as well as for both races of the 2026 Monaco E-Prix.

Lola Yamaha tests Ticktum in Spain

According to FE Notebook, Ticktum is set to take part in a two-day Lola Yamaha test at Circuit Guadix in Spain this week. Both seats at Lola Yamaha are available for the coming season. Lucas di Grassi has ended his active racing career, while Zane Maloney was announced on Wednesday as a new driver for the Nissan works team. Lola Yamaha's partnership with ABT Sportsline also came to an end after Season 12.

The test could therefore give Ticktum a concrete opportunity to secure one of Lola Yamaha's two vacant seats for the Gen4 era. According to the report, Penske and the announced second Porsche works team are also among his options, with talks said to already be taking place.

However, a departure from Cupra Kiro has not yet been decided. The team has not yet confirmed that Ticktum will leave.
