Envision Racing announced on Thursday morning that it had extended the contract with its driver Sebastien Buemi by several years. The Swiss driver is therefore entering his fourth season with the team and will continue to drive for Envision in the Gen4 era from the end of 2026.

Buemi has enjoyed considerable success with Envision over the past three seasons: two pole positions, six podium finishes, most recently at the season finale in London, and a race win at the Monaco E-Prix in May this year. Sixth place in the overall standings, achieved in the 2022/23 season, was Buemi's best result with the team, helping Envision win the team world championship together with Nick Cassidy.

"I'm super happy to re-sign with Envision Racing," says Buemi. "We have enjoyed plenty of great moments and results together over the past three seasons, and I am very excited and motivated to add to this. Season 11 was a good year for me personally, achieving the win in Monaco and podiums which have been a great boost for us to keep working hard and achieve more this season," the Swiss continued.

“Seb is a great asset to Envision”

"We’re delighted to confirm that Seb will remain part of the team," said Envision Team Principal Sylvain Filippi. "His experience and technical insight have been instrumental in advancing both our car and our overall performance. We’re confident he will continue to drive us forward and deliver strong results."

"We are delighted to resign Sebastien to our team,” said Franz Jung, Chairman and CEO of the team. “Seb is a great asset to Envision Racing, and we are looking forward to continuing our journey with him."

It is not yet known who Buemi's teammate will be. The team announced Robin Frijns' departure two weeks ago, but has not yet presented a successor.

On December 6, Buemi will compete in his 46th race for Envision in Sao Paulo, his 142nd in Formula E overall. Before that, however, the official pre-season tests will take place in Valencia, which are scheduled for the last week of October.
