Nico Müller will be racing for Porsche customer-team Andretti next season after leaving ABT Cupra. This was announced by the Indianapolis-based team in a press release on Tuesday afternoon. The Swiss will succeed Norman Nato after the team made the Frenchman's departure public a few days ago.

Müller will be team-mate to Jake Dennis, the 2023 Formula E World Champion, at Andretti next season. The two-time DTM runner-up will take part in a Porsche manufacturer test with his new team-mate in August in preparation for the official pre-season tests, which will take place in Valencia in November.

"I'm very excited to join the Andretti Formula E team", said Nico Müller. "It's a team that has seen success from the very beginning of the Championship, particularly in the GEN3 era in their partnership with Porsche Motorsport. To work with Jake, a former World Champion, is an honor, and I'm looking forward to the opportunity. I'm going to give it my very best to contribute to the team's success and hopefully aim for some podiums and my first Formula E win – that's the target. I can't wait to get going."

"We are delighted to welcome Nico to the Andretti Formula E team for Season 11", says Roger Griffiths, team principal of Andretti Formula E. "His familiarity with electric racing is proven, and he has shown he can deliver strong results across a wide variety of Formula E tracks. Nico is a race winner in many disciplines of motorsport, and we look forward to him lining up alongside Jake Dennis at the opening race in Brazil."

Michael Andretti: "We have high expectations"

"We have high expectations for Season 11, and we're confident that adding a driver of Nico's caliber will help us get results", adds Michael Andretti, CEO and Chairman of Andretti Global. "His experience and success in Formula E, and numerous other highly respected racing series, will be key as we continue to increase the depth of our driver roster. We're looking forward to seeing what Nico can do as we continue our pursuit of wins and World Championships."

Nico Müller is contesting his fifth Formula E season. His best result in his 46 races in the electric series to date was a second place at the 2021 Valencia E-Prix, back then for the Penske team known as Dragon Racing at that time. He achieved his best result in the overall Formula E standings last season with ABT Cupra in 12th place.
