After four seasons together, Porsche and Andretti are going their separate ways. On Tuesday afternoon, the two parties announced that they will end their partnership at the conclusion of the current season. Porsche has supplied powertrains to the American outfit since Season 9, with Andretti immediately winning the drivers' world championship with Jake Dennis in its first campaign as a Porsche customer team. Powered by Porsche, Andretti claimed four Formula E victories and a further 15 podium finishes.
The move brings to an end one of the most successful customer programmes of the Gen3 era. Andretti switched to the Porsche 99X Electric for Season 9 following BMW’s withdrawal and instantly became a title contender. Jake Dennis won the very first race of the new partnership, the Mexico City E-Prix, laying the foundation for his 2023 drivers’ world championship. It was also Andretti’s first drivers’ title in Formula E.
Wishing our friends at @AndrettiFE all the best for the future 🙏

Our story in Formula E would not be the same without them! 🏆 pic.twitter.com/J7O7vEghXo
The relationship between the American team and Porsche remained close in the years that followed. Andretti continued to rely on technology from Weissach, while Porsche even made its works drivers Andre Lotterer, David Beckmann and Nico Müller available to the customer team. For Porsche, Andretti was therefore not only an important partner from a sporting perspective, but also an additional source of data in Formula E’s fiercely contested manufacturers' field.
The decision does not come as a major surprise, however. The current agreement between the two parties was only set to run until the end of the season, while Porsche also announced several months ago that it would field two works teams of its own in the Gen4 era.
For Andretti, it remains unclear which powertrain the team will use from next season onwards. The team has been a permanent fixture in Formula E since the inaugural 2014/15 season and is one of the most established names on the grid. Andretti has been linked with Nissan for several months, with the Japanese manufacturer currently competing without a customer team following McLaren’s exit from Formula E.
After four years with Porsche, a new chapter now begins for Andretti. The partnership nevertheless leaves behind an impressive record: one drivers' title, four race wins, 19 podium finishes in total, and proof that customer teams in Formula E can also be title contenders.
Four wins, four pole positions, 19 podiums, 176 laps led, 14 fastest laps and 630 championship points (and counting!)...
