What has long been rumoured in the electric series paddock is now a certainty: Nick Cassidy will leave Jaguar TCS Racing at the end of the season. The team made the announcement in a press release on Monday afternoon. As third in the world championship last season, Cassidy played a major role in Jaguar celebrating the team world championship.

The London E-Prix will mark the end of a success story: Cassidy achieved two pole positions, four victories and seven further podium finishes for the team and was last victorious just over a week ago at the Berlin E-Prix. He scored a total of 278 championship points in his two seasons with Jaguar. It is not yet officially known what will happen next for the New Zealander. However, he is said to have signed a contract with the Stellantis Group and is therefore a hot candidate for a seat with the Maserati MSG Racing team.

"The decision to leave Jaguar TCS Racing has not been an easy one," says Nick Cassidy. "But ultimately it is the right one for me personally. I’d like to thank everyone at the team for their support since I joined at the beginning of Season 10. We have fought hard and had some great success together. I particularly want to thank the engineers and mechanics on the #37 side of the garage – we’ve made some amazing memories! Looking ahead to London this weekend, we’ll work as hard as ever as a team to ensure we’re competitive and fighting for another top‑three finish in the Drivers' World Championship."

"Nick is an exceptional racing driver and a very astute competitor as the world can see from his performances," says James Barclay, Team Principal of Jaguar TCS Racing. "He has impressed everyone in the team with his unwavering dedication to win and I’m proud of the role he’s played in our team success. On behalf of the whole team, I’d like to thank Nick and wish him all the best for a successful future ‑ starting of course with the final race weekend of the season in London, where together we’ll still be fighting as hard as ever for points, podiums and wins."

It is not yet clear who will succeed Cassidy at Jaguar TCS Racing. In addition to Porsche factory driver Antonio Felix da Costa, Jake Hughes and Stoffel Vandoorne are also being touted as potential candidates. Jake Dennis is also said to be a possible candidate for the second Jaguar cockpit.
