1.1 We are pleased that you are visiting our website and thank you for your interest. In the following, we will inform you about the handling of your personal data when using our website. Personal data are all data with which you can be personally identified.

1.3 For security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal data and other confidential content (e.g. orders or inquiries to the controller), this website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the string "https://" and the lock symbol in your browser bar.

2. Data collection when visiting our website

When you visit our website for informational purposes only, i.e. if you do not register or otherwise provide us with information, we only collect data that your browser sends to our server (so-called "server log files"). When you visit our website, we collect the following data that is technically necessary for us to display the website:

  • Our visited website
  • Date and time of the request
  • Amount of data sent in bytes
  • Source/reference from which you reached the page
  • Used browser
  • Operating system used
  • IP address used (if applicable: in anonymous form)

Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website. The data will not be passed on or otherwise used. However, we reserve the right to check the server log files retrospectively if there are concrete indications of illegal use.

3. Cookies

To make visiting our website attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages. These are small text files that are stored on your device. Some of the cookies we use are deleted after the end of the browser session, i.e. after you close your browser (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your device and enable us or our partner companies (third-party cookies) to recognize your browser on your next visit (persistent cookies). If cookies are set, they collect and process certain user information to an individual extent, such as browser and location data as well as IP address values. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period, which may differ depending on the cookie.

If individual cookies implemented by us also process personal data, the processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR to safeguard our legitimate interests in the best possible functionality of the website and a customer-friendly and effective design of the page visit.

Under certain circumstances, we may work with advertising partners who help us make our internet offering more interesting for you. For this purpose, cookies from partner companies are also stored on your hard drive when you visit our website (third-party cookies). If we work with the aforementioned advertising partners, you will be individually and separately informed about the use of such cookies and the scope of the information collected in the following paragraphs.

Please note that you can adjust your browser settings to be informed about the use of cookies and decide on their acceptance on an individual basis or exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general. Each browser differs in the way it manages cookie settings, which is described in the help menu of each browser and explains how you can change your cookie settings. You can find this information for the respective browsers at the following links:

Please note that if you do not accept cookies, the functionality of our website may be restricted.

This data is stored and used exclusively for the purpose of answering your request or for contacting you and the associated technical administration. The legal basis for processing the data is our legitimate interest in responding to your request pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If your contact aims at the conclusion of a contract, an additional legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. Your data will be deleted after final processing of your request, provided that it can be inferred from the circumstances that the matter in question has been finally clarified and there are no legal retention obligations.

5. Newsletter

When you sign up for a newsletter from us, the following mandatory information will be collected:

  • Email address

In this case, your email address may be used by us for advertising purposes.

When you sign up for the newsletter, we store the IP address of your computer system used at the time of registration, as assigned by your Internet service provider (ISP), as well as the date and time of registration. The collection of this data is necessary to be able to trace any (possible) misuse of the email address of a data subject at a later point in time and therefore serves our legal protection.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of your newsletter. Alternatively, you can write us an email with the subject "Unsubscribe," and we will remove you from the distribution list.

If you object to the use of your data for advertising purposes, your data will only be used in anonymized form for statistical evaluation purposes.

The newsletter is sent out once a week as a regular schedule. Additionally, breaking news on individual topics with great relevance may be sent out. We use the newsletter provider "Sender" to send out the newsletter. A table with the email addresses of all subscribers is uploaded to the web tool of Sender. Sender processes the data according to the requirements of the GDPR.

5.1) Comment function

As part of the comment function on this website, information about the time of the creation of the comment and the commentator name chosen by you will be stored and published on the website, in addition to your comment. Furthermore, your IP address is also recorded and stored. This storage of the IP address is carried out for security reasons and in the event that the data subject violates the rights of third parties or posts unlawful content through a comment. We require your email address to contact you in case a third party objects to your published content as being unlawful. The legal basis for the storage of your data are Art. 6 (1) lit. b and f GDPR. We reserve the right to delete comments if they are objected to as being unlawful by third parties.

6. Use of your data for direct advertising

6.1 Signing up for our email newsletter

If you sign up for our email newsletter, we will regularly send you information about our offers. The only mandatory information for sending the newsletter is your email address. Any further data provided is voluntary and is used to personally address you. We use the double opt-in procedure for sending the newsletter. This means that we will only send you an email newsletter once you have expressly confirmed that you agree to receive the newsletter. We will then send you a confirmation email asking you to confirm that you want to receive newsletters in the future by clicking on a corresponding link.

By activating the confirmation link, you give us your consent to use your personal data in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR. When you sign up for the newsletter, we store the IP address entered by your Internet service provider (ISP), as well as the date and time of registration, in order to be able to trace any possible misuse of your email address at a later point in time. The data collected by us when you sign up for the newsletter is used exclusively for advertising purposes through the newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link provided in the newsletter or by sending a message to the responsible party named at the beginning of this statement. After unsubscribing, your email address will be immediately deleted from our newsletter distribution list, unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data or we reserve the right to use your data beyond what is legally permissible and about which we inform you in this statement.

7. Use of Social Media: Videos

Use of YouTube videos

This website uses the YouTube embedding feature to display and play videos from the provider "YouTube," which is owned by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google").

The extended privacy mode is used, which, according to the provider, only starts storing user information when the video(s) is played. If embedded YouTube videos are started, the provider "YouTube" uses cookies to collect information about user behavior. According to "YouTube," these cookies are used, among other things, to record video statistics, improve user-friendliness, and prevent abusive behavior. If you are logged in to Google, your data will be directly assigned to your account when you click on a video. If you do not want this information to be associated with your YouTube profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for non-logged-in users) as usage profiles and evaluates them. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit.f GDPR on the basis of Google's legitimate interests in displaying personalized advertising, market research, and/or tailoring its website to meet users' needs. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, and you must contact YouTube to exercise this right.

Regardless of whether the embedded videos are played, a connection to the Google network "DoubleClick" is established each time this website is called up, which can trigger further data processing operations without our influence.

Google LLC, based in the USA, is certified under the US-EU Privacy Shield, which guarantees compliance with the level of data protection applicable in the EU.

Further information on data protection at "YouTube" can be found in the provider's privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy

We maintain online presences within social networks and platforms in order to communicate with customers, interested parties, and users active there and to inform them about our services.

8. Online presence in social media

We would like to point out that user data may be processed outside the European Union. This may result in risks for users, as it could, for example, make it more difficult to enforce users' rights. With regard to US providers certified under the Privacy Shield, we would like to point out that they thereby commit themselves to comply with the data protection standards of the EU.

Furthermore, user data is usually processed for market research and advertising purposes. For example, usage behavior and resulting user interests can be used to create usage profiles. The usage profiles can be used to display advertisements within and outside the platforms that presumably correspond to the users' interests. Cookies are usually stored on users' computers for these purposes, in which usage behavior and user interests are stored. In addition, data can also be stored in the usage profiles independently of the devices used by the users (especially if the users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in).

The processing of users' personal data is based on our legitimate interests in effectively informing and communicating with users pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR. If users are asked by the respective providers to give their consent to data processing (i.e., to express their consent, for example by checking a checkbox or confirming a button), the legal basis for processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, Art. 7 GDPR.

For a detailed description of the respective processing and the options to object (opt-out), please refer to the linked information of the providers below.

Also in the case of requests for information and the assertion of user rights, we point out that these can be most effectively asserted with the providers.

9. Online Marketing

Google AdSense

This website uses Google AdSense, a web advertising service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). Google AdSense uses so-called "DoubleClick DART cookies" ("cookies"). These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. In addition, Google AdSense uses so-called "web beacons" (small, invisible graphics) to record, collect, and evaluate simple actions such as visitor traffic on the website. The information generated by the cookie and/or web beacon (including your IP address) about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google uses the information obtained in this way to evaluate your usage behavior with regard to AdSense ads. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google AdSense is not merged with other data from Google. The information collected by Google may be transferred to third parties if required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google.

The processing of data described above is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR for the purpose of targeted advertising by third-party advertisers whose ads are displayed on this website based on the analyzed user behavior. The processing also serves our financial interest in maximizing the economic potential of our website through the display of personalized third-party advertising content for payment.

Google LLC, based in the USA, is certified for the US-European data protection agreement "Privacy Shield", which ensures compliance with the data protection level applicable in the EU.

You can permanently deactivate cookies for ad preferences by preventing their storage through a corresponding setting of your browser software or by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin?hl=en

Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including the truncated IP address) is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

This website uses Google Analytics exclusively with the extension "_anonymizeIp()", which ensures anonymization of the IP address by truncation and excludes direct personal reference. By means of the extension, your IP address is previously truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. In these exceptional cases, this processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR based on our legitimate interest in the statistical analysis of user behavior for optimization and marketing purposes.

On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide us with other services related to website usage and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

You can prevent cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser software settings; however, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use all the features of this website to their full extent. In addition, you can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

The service includes the transmission of the IP address and, if applicable, other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google and is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO based on our legitimate interest in determining individual intent in actions on the Internet and preventing abuse and spam.

Google LLC, based in the USA, is certified under the US-European data protection agreement "Privacy Shield," which ensures compliance with the level of data protection applicable in the EU.

11.2 Google Maps

On our website we use Google Maps (API) from Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Maps is a web service for displaying interactive (land) maps to visually represent geographic information. By using this service, our location will be displayed to you, making it easier to find directions.

When you access the subpages into which the Google Maps map is integrated, information about your use of our website (such as your IP address) is transmitted to Google servers in the USA and stored there. This occurs regardless of whether Google provides a user account that you are logged into or whether no user account exists. If you are logged into Google, your data will be directly associated with your account. If you do not want this association with your profile on Google, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data (even for users who are not logged in) as usage profiles and evaluates them. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit.f DSGVO based on the legitimate interests of Google in displaying personalized advertising, market research and/or tailoring its website to meet users' needs. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, but you must contact Google to exercise this right.

Google LLC, based in the USA, is certified under the US-European data protection agreement “Privacy Shield”, which ensures compliance with the level of data protection applicable in the EU.

If you do not agree to the future transmission of your data to Google in the context of using Google Maps, you also have the option to completely deactivate the Google Maps web service by turning off the JavaScript application in your browser. Google Maps and thus the map display on this website cannot then be used.

For this purpose, the browser you are using must establish a connection to Google's servers. As a result, Google becomes aware that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. If your browser does not support web fonts, a default font will be used by your computer.

Google LLC, based in the USA, is certified under the US-European data protection agreement “Privacy Shield”, which ensures compliance with the level of data protection applicable in the EU.

This website uses Google AdSense, a service for incorporating advertisements from Google Inc. ("Google"). Google AdSense uses so-called "cookies", which are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of the use of the website. Google AdSense also uses so-called web beacons (invisible graphics). Through these web beacons, information such as visitor traffic on these pages can be evaluated.

The information generated by cookies and web beacons about the use of this website (including your IP address) and the delivery of advertising formats is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, this right does not exist, in particular, if the processing is necessary for exercising the right to freedom of expression and information, for fulfilling a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest, or for the assertion, exercise, or defense of legal claims;
  • Right to restriction of processing pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR: You have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted as long as the accuracy of your disputed data is being verified, if you refuse the deletion of your data due to unauthorized data processing and instead request the restriction of the processing of your data, if you need your data for the assertion, exercise, or defense of legal claims after we no longer need this data for the intended purpose or if you have objected for reasons of your particular situation, as long as it is not yet clear whether our legitimate grounds outweigh yours.

If we process your personal data based on our legitimate interests within the scope of a balancing of interests, you have the right to object to this processing at any time for reasons that arise from your particular situation and with effect for the future. If you exercise your right to object, we will stop processing the data in question. However, further processing is reserved if we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that outweigh your interests, fundamental rights and freedoms, or if the processing serves the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims.
